How to Unlearn

DISCOVERING (2.47 – 3.26)

Take a deep breath, hold it, and let it out. Everything is OK. In order to keep your head above water, you will greatly benefit by incorporating elements of the Release into your leadership practice. One way or another you will have to let go, the choice is up to you if you wish to be proactive or reactive with your Release, but make no mistake operating from a 24/7 mindset will not be sustainable for you. I encourage you to make a conscious effort, unlike any other time in your career, to self-reflect, forgive yourself, and be more presently aware. It’s time to let go of limiting beliefs and approach your leadership journey with greater optimism.

DEVELOPING (3.27 – 3.68)

When it comes to the Release, you likely are aware of the benefits that leaders can experience by demonstrating mindfulness behaviors. As someone who is Developing in this area you probably have tried, on an off-and-on basis, different techniques to let go of negative thoughts and emotions, but sometimes struggle with consistency. I encourage you to continue to prioritize self-reflection, self-forgiveness, and other mindfulness behaviors. Allow space to learn from and let go of past leadership and life failures. Continue focusing on new opportunities to better yourself as you begin to unlearn limiting beliefs and past judgments.

DEMONSTRATING (3.69 – 4.84)

Go ahead and smile, as a leader who is effectively demonstrating the Release you have found great joy and fulfillment in slowing down and letting go of the baggage you once carried. I encourage you to pay forward your experiences and wisdom with other leaders who struggle to find a better balance between their drive and their ability to simply be. Help others on their journey see the value in self-reflection. Promote healing and growth in them as they work through past failures and labels. When applicable allow those on your team time to recharge, reconnect, and rediscover themselves in their own way. Continue to be an ongoing ambassador of the Release.
